Shahid Afridi Is No More Pakistan's One Day Captain


As Pakistan’s captain Shahid Afridi has been removed from the Golden chair and Misbah-ul-Haq has been crowned for the same against Ireland tour.


Nadeem Sarwar of PCB told the related Press on Thursday it is the "policy of the board to appoint a captain on a series to series basis."


Shahid led the Pakistani team to the semifinals in World Cup but after coming back from West Indies, he told media that he was no delighted with the meddling of team affairs by members of the management.(names remained hidden).

The PCB stated on the issue that Afridi had dishonored its code of conduct and suitable action would be taken. Shahid was Pakistan's 4th ODI captain in less than two years following Shoaib Malik, Younis Khan and Mohammad Yousuf when he led the players in the Asia Cup last year.


Shahid Afridi and Younis Khan both were nominated in sixteen member squad to play the two ODIs against Ireland on May 28 and May 30 in Belfast.
